The Association of Mountain Parks Protection and Enjoyment (AMPPE) is an association of Canadians, recreationalists, Rocky Mountain Parks residents, and local businesses who are passionate advocates for and users of Canada’s Mountain Parks. The Parks are where we live, work and play.
We believe in being true stewards of the Parks unparalleled natural state and the experiences they offer. Together AMPPE’s members play host to the region’s over 4 million visitors per year where we provide the inspiring and authentic experiences that Parks Canada strives for in each management plan.
We seek to preserve the Parks founders’ vision that Canada’s Mountain Parks are “dedicated to the people of Canada for their benefit, education and enjoyment, and shall be maintained and made use of, and left unimpaired, for the enjoyment of future generations”.
Our Values
Ecological integrity
We believe in healthy Parks. Conservation is fostered when visitors experience nature in a deep and meaningful way.
Visitor Experience
We are proud hosts. We want our guests to have access to the high-quality experiences and services they would expect this extraordinary location.
Local Inclusion
We seek to be involved. Decisions related to Parks planning must be weighed and made in consultation with the local people who understand and make the Parks their home.
