Breaking news: Rent relief for tenants in National Parks

Good morning and happy Monday! Best wishes to everyone as National Parks reopen today.
AMPPE is pleased to share with you the news that, th is morning, the Canadian Government announced it will provide rent relief for eligible tenants in all national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation area. This announcement comes on the heels of AMPPE’s advocacy work on rent abatement.
As you may be aware, last week the Canadian Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance (CECRA) program opened for applications to provide rent relief to small business, unfortunately, businesses who are tenants in Parks Canada places are not eligible for the CECRA program because they, or in some cases their landlord, are on federal lands renting from a federal agency.
