AMPPE Hill Days Priority Issues

AMPPE is in Ottawa this week for our annual advocacy trip. This year, AMPPE is joining forces with Banff Lake Louise Tourism and the Banff Lake Louise Hospitality Association to form a delegation to meet with the Prime Minister’s Office, Parks Canada, the Privy Council, Prairies Economic Development, Employment and Workforce Development, Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Minister of Small Business and several shadow critics.

Next week, we will participate in the Tourism Industry Association of Alberta’s (TIAA) Hill Day and have similar meetings with different officials as part of TIAA’s Alberta delegation.

This year, AMPPE will focus on the following issues:

  1. Coordinated Government Support to Help Rebuild Jasper
    National Park
  2. Re-Investing in Canada’s National Park Infrastructure
  3. Improve Transparency and Accountability
  4. Mandate Parks Canada to adopt and implement the
    Government’s Tourism Growth Strategy
  5. Invest in Canada’s Icefields Parkway
