Past Gala Information

In 2015, AMPPE put on the ritz and celebrated The Birth of the Tourism in the Rockies with The Roaring Twenties Gala. Inspired by the glitz and glam of a bygone era, when the suits were sharp and the gin was dry, the evening started with the champagne cocktail at The Bootlegger Bar, followed by The Speakeasy Reception. MC Mayor Karen Sorensen and Keynote Speaker entertained guests during the unique silent auction. The guests then enjoyed the live jazz entertainment by Heather Blush and Lemondrop at the Flappers and Fellas Stage.

The 2014 ‘Stetsons & Stilettos’ themed Gala celebrated more than a century of outfitting in the Canadian Rockies and 20 years of AMPPE success. Guests were greeted outside of the venue by Kevin Stanton and his packhorses Digger and Miko and began the evening with cocktails at The Saloon. Following a gourmet western-themed meal and a glass of wine, over 260 attendees were entertained by Master of Ceremonies Mayor Karen Sorensen and Keynote speakers The Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State (Western Economic Diversification) and The Honourable Blake Richards, Member of Parliament for Wild Rose Constituency & Chair of the Parliamentary Tourism Caucus. A silent auction and rousing live auction included horseback and golf vacations, adventure tourism getaways and culinary experiences. Banff’s own country and western recording artist Cori Brewster performed outfitter-inspired songs and stories on the Buffalo Street stage and guests dusted off their boots while 2-stepping to the music of the Swillbillies to round out a fun and engaging western evening in support of a great cause.

Mountain Mardi Gras 2013 raised over $48,000 in net profit to continue AMPPE’s advocacy efforts. Guests donned Mardi Gras masks and beads, bid on auction items at the Bourbon Street Market, enjoyed the music of Swanee & Friends on the Mardi Gras Stage and were entertained by Guest Speaker The Honourable Doctor Richard Starkey (Minister of Tourism, Parks & Recreation).

The 2012 Vintage Ski theme celebrated a century of the world’s greatest skiing. Auction items included ski packages and catskiing adventures, and the evening raised $53,000 for AMPPE’s advocacy work. After dinner, guests mingled at the Apres-Ski Lounge in front of a roaring fire and welcomed Keynote Speaker The Honourable Maxime Bernier (Minister of State, Small Business and Tourism).
