The Association for Mountain Parks Protection & Enjoyment protecting parks * protecting tourism

Friday, November 4thAlberta Ballroom at Fairmont Banff Springs

The 16th Fundraising Gala was held at the Fairmont Banff Springs with the theme of Hollywood in the Mountains, inspired by the era of 1950s silver screen, and celebrating our history of welcoming celebrities in the Rockies. Thanks to the support of the community, the annual event was a great success.

Red Carpet and champagne reception

The Red Carpet was rolled out and guest in fabulous 1950s gowns and tuxedos were welcomed by stars and Glitterati Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and James Dean. Champagne and cocktails flowed freely in The Bourbon Club and many exciting auction items were presented on The Silver Screen. After a gourmet dinner, the swish and swagger continued into the evening with live music by Steve Pineo Band and dancing at the Red Curtain stage.

Casey Peirce, AMPPE’s executive director and Mike Day, the Chair of AMPPE’s Board of Directors hosted the event as MC. The highlight of the event was an inspiring speech by The Oscar worthy Rex Murphy, depicting the importance of our national parks for people.
